I was fully aware but didn’t know if I was awake, lying in the warm sheets as the light from the window caressed my skin, covering it all with gold. It was her that hugged me.

I could feel the warmth and weight of her body, the complete acceptance and unconditional love emanating from her presence.

She lay beside me but not outside. She was me, my consciousness offering complete acceptance and love of who I am. Her sweet presence and feeling of unencumbered peace lasted at least two minutes, with my eyes fully open.
