A painting about change, grief and the surreal experience to saying goodbye to your loved ones at a distance and missing the usual rituals to honor their lives, one of the hardest parts of life as an immigrant.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t there to send you off to rest. I knew you were leaving when I said goodbye.
I wanted to hold your hand at the end. I wanted to close your eyes and give you a kiss.
Now I get to spread your ashes to the wind, I let you go for your last flight, with nothing to hold, a bitter goodbye”.
