There is something about growing that can feel almost painful—the rebellion, ache and longing of adolescence, even long after adolescence has passed. While painting, I kept returning to the feeling of emotions reaching their limit and finally spilling over: that release that comes when we have had enough of what is and find ourselves ready for transformation.
About Catalysts
Catalysts is a collection of original mixed-media works created in response to stories written by Canadian women for the anthology The Fires We Lit. Each piece began as an encounter with another person’s words and became an independent visual reflection on what remained.
